Short Interim Update

Just a brief note that I have several posts in progress, however real-life is slowing things down. I am drafting the review for Incident at Absalom Station and have a little surprise planned as well. No worries Lance fans, we're alive and well.

In fact, I have proudly completed prepping the third book for the "Dead Suns" AP on Roll20, so in a couple of weeks I will probably be taking back the mantle of GM for my group and moving through at least the first half of the book. That will prompt me to post a few other things in preparation for resuming the game.

Captain Lance Harker's New Vessel! We got the deets, Lancers and Lancettes!

Lancers and Lancettes, our boy has worn a lot of hats over the years (yes, that is a dumb jokey reference to "The Elven Haberdasher of Golarion" what a fantastic, if underrated film!), but over the last few weeks we have seen him add ship's captain to his repertoire.

And yes, I have sent him a replica of an old Castrovellian tricorn. Want to know about the starship he now commands? After the jump, baby!

Paparrazi and Police! Lance at Fusion Queen!

That's right Lancers and Lancettes, our boy was caught on tape by the paparrazi slumming it at a club known for gang activity.

Is Lance in trouble? Falling in with a bad crowd? And is it true his new "companion" was with him?

Lance was spotted entering a club called "Fusion Queen", known by folks who know these things as a hangout for a gang on Absalom called "Downside Kings". These lowlifes are violent criminals, so what was Lance doing there?

"Station Security responded to an assault with deadly weapons report at Fusion Queen. On arrival, agents noted that a high level member of the Downside King criminal gang and a wanted violent criminal were apprehended by citizens affiliated with the Starfinder Society."

Yup, that's the official word. Lance is a hero and now a Starfinder!

Which apparently explains his new companion, who has been identified by my contacts as a woman named Stella. That's all I know at this point, but I will continue digging, Lancers and Lancettes!

First Session Recap

The characters go from arriving at Absalom Station to investigating a gang scuffle.



As the characters arrive at Absalom Station to meet with a contact in the Starfinder Society, they find themselves caught in a gunfight at the shuttle bay. Their dwarven SFS contact, Duravor Kreel, is killed immediately by what appeared to be a stray blast. Lance took significant damage in the exchange, but was quickly healed by Stella.

After reporting the incident to Chiskisk in the SFS, the characters were asked to check into the incident a little further. After a full day's worth of investigating various sources and methods, they learned a little bit about the gangs involved, the Downside Kings and the Level 21 Crew, and that the gangs were proxies for other interests. The Downside Kings were hired by a ruthless mining company, Astral Extractions, to harass a local mining union called The Hardscrabble Collective. It is still unclear if Kreel was directly targeted or not, though that appears to be the rumor.

The next day they visited the leader of the Level 21 Crew, Jabaxa. Although the gang would not commit resources to a reprisal, they were willing to provide some further information, and corroboration of some of what they learned the day before.

Now the characters are on their way to confront the Downside Kings...

Each character receives 700 experience points.

Lance Sighting on Absalom Station!

That's right Lancers and Lancettes, our favorite singer and performer who left "The Zenith Point Boyz" two years to pursue his own solo project, Duck, Duck, Lance (widely panned by critics, but since when do critics know good music?) has been confirmed to be on Absalom Station!

But that isn't all! We have some bad news, good news, and more bad news just below...
