Session 9 Recap - May 4, 2018

Session 9 Recap
"Temple of the Twelve"

A sickened predator and an ancient landmark.

The group stops for the evening after the moldstorm, but before they can begin to relax a large lizard-like creature bellows in agony and crashes the camp. Hammer makes himself the focus of the beast's attacks, but the overwhelming firepower from the others kills it before it can kill Hammer.

After two uneventful days, the group locates what the rogue explorer Halkueem Zan called, "The Plague Warden". As the crew moves to investigate, a sniper shot rings out and everyone takes cover. Lance and Hammer begin darting between cover, moving closer to the landmark as Sabine attempts to isolate the shooter's position.

Lance gets to the Warden first and is able to figure out it is a building of some sort. More importantly, he ends up being out of the shooter's field of fire. Hammer follows closely behind while Stella and Hesori begin moving up. When Lance locates the entrance, a dangerous flying predator makes itself known when it attempts to lasso Lance.

The group works to assemble on Lance's position, both to be safe from the sniper and to assist him with the sky fisher trying to drag him away. After a brief struggle, Lance breaks free and the others bring the creature down. The sniper reappears on another section of the Warden, and the characters take cover inside it.

Stella and the rest immediately pick up on the need for a ritual before exploring the building, as prescribed by the ancient carvings and instructions on the walls. Fortunately, they are not disturbed as a few of the characters complete it.

Further ahead, an ambush is sprung on the characters. Two goons accompanying the sniper fall easily, and the sniper is taken captive. The sniper freely admits to being a member of a Devourer cult, but claims to not be so much of a zealot that he would die in a pointless fight.

Three additional days have passed for a total of ten days on continent. Each character receives 1200 experience.
