Session 11 Recap
"Temple of the Twelve"

Entering the Temple of the Twelve and rescuing the doctor.

The crew enters the temple through a window in an upstairs section of the temple, finding interesting star gazing materials but little else of interest to their present-day mission. In the chamber below is a mess of books, documents, and scattered fragments of material and dust scattered about in disarray. The chamber is also defended by ancient elven guardians. A brief scuffle ensues until Lance is able to calm them down by being a well-spoken elf.

After securing the room, the characters move quickly. Opening the door to the larger temple beyond, they spot the kidnapped researcher, Dr. Solstarni. She telepathically relays to the group a call for help and tells them there are dangerous people around the corner. The group makes ready to address her kidnappers and Lance attempts to bluff them, but it backfires and encourages the cultists instead.

A firefight breaks out as one cultist empties a machine gun on them, wounding everyone at least some with the hail of bullets. The crew takes down her goons and chases the cultist heavy down and manages to defeat her just before she triggers explosives set around the temple.

Sabine disarms the bombs as the rest of the group frees the doctor and checks the rest of the temple. They are warned that the cult leader is on his way back while picking through the gunner's computer and set an ambush.

The ancient undead elf guardian outside the temple is dragged into the fight at the temple entrance by the cult leader, providing a significant threat to the group. The crew focuses fire on the leader, taking her out of the fight and breaking the control he held over the undead elf. The guardian mops up the rest of the opposition and thanks Lance and the others for stopping the Devourer from harming the temple he is charged with protecting.

Each character receives 2600 experience points. After returning to Qabarat and taking time to rest and recover, they have spent a total of 24 days on Castrovel, and 31 days since the campaign's start.
